Practicing surgery is a demanding affair that needs a set of skills to handle the soft tissues. Moreover, soft tissue injuries are one of the most common injuries encountered among trauma victims. It is not uncommon to come across the neuro-vascular injuries even in general surgical practice. These injuries may be iatrogenic while performing complex general surgical procedures or secondary to other causes of traumatic injuries like road traffic injuries.

It is paramount to diagnose these injuries in timely manner, as subtle signs may be easily overlooked by unsuspicious clinician. Neuro-vascular injuries are known for their catastrophic effects on limb or life, if nor addressed in a proper way. Management of these injuries demand a sound knowledge of anatomic relations of neuro-vascular structures, clinical features suggestive of injury and proficient surgical skills to tackle in time bound manner.

This workshop is specifically designed to address all the salient features associated with these injuries, while stressing on critical treatment decisions that enable a practicing surgeon to provide a holistic management to a patient with neuro-vascular injury. The workshop includes a theory session and a supervised hands-on training session to impart knowledge and skill proficiency among participants. It provides a conducive learning environment under direct supervision of dedicated trauma surgeons with over a decade experience of managing such injuries at Level 1 Trauma Center.
